As you know I’m working with the Sleep in Heavenly Peace - TX, Fort Worth chapter to build and deliver beds to kids in the DFW area. We have several deliveries scheduled over the next couple of months and could use some more bedding. You all have been so generous in the past that we don’t need any pillows for a while. Here is a link to an Amazon Wish List that you can use to ship them directly to my home. As I understand it you will need to be logged in to see the shipping information. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/LQVY3OJ2BGNX?ref_=wl_share |

I now work at the SPCA of Texas, which has locations in both Dallas & Waxahachie. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping both animals & people in the community. We plan to have our first annual fun run/walk fundraiser at the Getzendaner Park on Saturday, May 13th from 8am to 12pm & are looking for volunteers. I wanted to reach out to see if any of your members would be interested in volunteering at our event from 7:30 to 10:30am? Volunteers need to be at least 10 years old. Volunteers 10 to 14 years old need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is at least 21 years old. Anyone 15 years & older can volunteer alone. https://spca.org/ |

Add this to your calendar "Build Beds for Kids" is Official and we need everyone's help February 18th starting at 9amPlan now to come out and help build beds for some kids! We need everyone that can make it out. You don’t need to have any carpentry skills nor do you need to bring any tools. Come out, bring someone with you, and enjoy some fellowship in our community. IT IS OFFICIAL…DISTRICT 2-X1 LIONS WILL “BUILD BEDS FOR KIDS” ON “BUILD DAY” FEBRUARY 18, 2023, AT ELLIS COUNTY YOUTH EXPO CENTER, 2300 WEST HIGHWAY 287 (West of I-35 South ½ mile on Hwy. 287), WAXAHACHIE, TX 75167. Our District 2-X1 Lion Volunteers and non-Lion guests will build 175 beds with our partner Sleep in Heavenly Peace for Texas Lions Camp. This is the first installment of 300-350 beds we will do together. This is critical timing for Texas Lions Camp to allow us to get the beds to Kerrville before the first Workday on March 4 to begin assembly and placement in the two new bunkhouses in time for summer Camp. We will need 150-200 volunteers to do the “Build.” The more volunteers we have the quicker we can complete the “Build.” Time of the event will begin at 9 am and be finished with the “Build” and clean-up by 5 pm. Drinks and food will be available “Build Day.” Plenty of free parking. Finally, if any Club with an outstanding pledge has not paid, we need your money at or before the Mid-Winter Conference. If you have not donated and wish to do so for one or more beds at $250 each (includes the bed, supplies and lumber, mattress, pillow, and sheets), please do so now. Send your donations to Waxahachie Lions Foundation, P. O. Box 581, Waxahachie, TX, 75168-0581 PC John Landrum and PCC John Eads (Dos Amigos) sincerely thank everyone for participating in this District 2-X1 project monetarily and as a volunteer. The opportunity to participate in sports, for many, is like looking at a picture. They can only dream of experiencing it.
